3 Tips to Enlist the Help of Others
Share
All too often, people get stuck because they feel they do not know how to ask for help. Fortunately, it's easy to ask for help. Read on for 3 simple, but sometimes not that easy, tips that you can use today to enlist the help of others.

  1. The first thing you need to do is ASK for help. Most people are more than willing to help you, but you must ASK for help. You can't get started if you're not willing to ask. Swallow your pride, and just ASK! You'd be surprised at what happens when you do this! It's hard for me too, but believe me, it's worth it!

  2. The next thing is, you must be willing to ACCEPT the help of others. After you ACCEPT help, don't worry about paying the helpful gesture back to that particular person. Work to help someone else who needs it, maybe at a later date. Helpful people love to help others. Allow them the opportunity to dig deep and genuinely help you. Believe me, it feels GREAT to help others, so allow others to help you.

  3. The last thing to remember is to always say THANK YOU after you get help, so people will want to help you the next time you need help. In fact if you want to provide a really great THANK YOU, send a personal note of thanks, and follow that up if you can with a personal phone call at an unexpected time, or if you can not get a phone number to call, a nice personal e-mail thank you is an acceptable alternative that gets the job done.

Remember: If you don’t swallow your pride and you try to "gut it out" in an area where you lack the necessary skills, knowledge or experiences, you increase the chances that you will fail and perhaps fail miserably. And nobody likes a failure, especially if with just a little bit of help, they could have succeeded in a BIG WAY!. Ask, and you shall receive, the help you need to make it great!

It's in you to make it great, so take the chance and do it! Just ASK already!
