To strengthen our IT Web Solutions team, we are looking for a talented individual to fill the position of: Digital & Web Solutions Architect

The Digital & Web Solutions Architect will provide subject matter expertise and best practice experience to support the development and management of the roadmap for Digital Web Platforms. This position is responsible for ensuring that our digital solutions enable and support business strategies, goals and requirements.

You like to work in an environment where you can:

  • Architect traditional and decoupled experiences working with Drupal core code, with a deep understanding of how important systems such as entities and the rendering layer work
  • Help guide the development team to provide a great product for our stakeholders
  • Partner with the UCB business units to lead architecture and ensure scalability of systems, processes across the entire value chain and patient journey
  • Demonstrate your understanding of digital marketing stack to lead the team on both functional and technical capabilities

You will contribute by:

  • Leading the technical application architecture and development activities using Open Source Web Platforms such as Drupal
  • Be a subject matter expert for all technical and functional capabilities across web technologies & platforms
  • Leading technical design sessions to architect and document technical solutions that are aligned with business objectives
  • Manage the technical delivery of custom development, integrations, and data migration elements of Drupal/Open Source CMS platforms
  • Assisting with the maintenance and extension of a suite of existing Drupal sites, as well as the creation of new sites including custom theme and module development
  • Hands-on development of reusable components, templates, code and libraries
  • Reviewing code and architecture using agile processes to ensure rapid delivery of needed business features
  • Ensuring the technical feasibility of UI/UX designs, work with UX and product teams to create amazing user experiences
  • Excellent mastery of web standards, cross-browser compatibility, accessibility and SEO
  • Ensuring timely resolution of user problems and delivery of agreed upon SLA's related to resolution
  • Monitoring and enhancing our infrastructure investment to 'right match' our development, performance and security needs
  • Participating in agile and scrum best practices, continuous integration and delivery (CI-CD) in a fast-paced agile environment
  • Communicating effectively with individuals and teams across a large organization including business partners and external vendors


For this position you'll need the following education, experience and skills:
Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree
  • 7+ years of deep expertise in the architecture/software development using Drupal CMS
  • Experience integrating Drupal with third-party systems with a variety of APIs and styles
  • Experience with git source control and pull requests
  • Extensive knowledge of PHP, Javascript, CSS etc
  • Detailed understanding of Drupal 8 best practices and knowledge of the Drupal 8 contrib ecosystem
  • Familiarity with MySQL, REST APIs, JSON, XML, AJAX
  • Deployment of applications using Kubernetes

Preferred Qualifications:

  • High level of comfort with digital healthcare strategies, trends, and opportunities and discussing and strategizing the use of web technology
  • Understanding of pharmaceutical industry commercial activities
  • Passion for technology and patient solutions
  • Able to evaluate new technologies in view of creating patient value with a strategic perspective in mind
  • Able to engage in strategic relationships with executives
  • Be agile by being able to perform at operational and tactical level
  • Have strong listening, communication, facilitation, influencing and analytical skills
  • Proven track record of coaching/mentoring others
  • Certified Front End Specialist - D8 and Certified Back End Specialist - D8
