Job Description
RK&K's Construction Engineering Inspection and Construction Management Division is hiring an Office Engineer to join our team in North Georgia. As a Office Engineer with RK&K you will strengthen our construction engineering and inspection team while providing advanced level and technical work supporting engineers on complex and routine projects including: highway, bridge, design/design-build projects. Opportunities for growth and training into construction management and office engineering careers. Ideally, this person can be located anywhere in the North/Central portion of the State.

Essential Functions:

  • Provide advanced construction management support, including processing progress statements, materials reports, final construction reports, contract modifications, and project closeout
  • Perform constructability reviews, and attend field plan reviews
  • Maintain RFI and Outstanding Issues Logs
  • Review of EEO, Certified Payroll, and OJT for compliance
  • Ability to communicate effectively across different platforms with project management, clients, stakeholders, and contractors
  • Interface with clients, state and federal agencies, and other engineering disciplines on construction projects
  • Recordkeeping for the overall contract administration and reporting as required
  • Must possess high integrity and ethics in all aspects of dealing with clients, subconsultants, and peers

Required Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Four (4) + years of progressive experience in roadway and structures CEI support having performed and/or assisted in all aspects of construction contract administration
  • Working knowledge of GDOT manuals, policies and procedures, include the Construction Manual
  • GDOT Construction Engineering Inspection Training Group 1
  • Working knowledge of the principles and practices of civil engineering and construction methods, materials, and equipment.
  • Ability to understand, explain, and administer contracts; and interpret construction plans, provisions, standards, and specifications
  • Ability to train, coordinate, and supervise inspectors in contract administration requirements
  • Travel to job sites is expected, clean driving record

Preferred Skills, Education, and Experience:

  • Previous experience with GDOT, especially as an Office Manager
  • Previous experience with GDOT Districts 1 and 2
