The Auxiliary and Support Services Department at Georgia State University is seeking to hire a Campus Ambassador to provide support to the Parking & Transportation Unit. This position performs a variety of tasks to ensure a quality customer experience and the smooth operation of the parking facility that exceeds our customer/clients' expectations.

The mission of Auxiliary and Support Services is to provide high quality administrative and educational support services to the Georgia State University community and constituents, in support of the University's mission of teaching, research and public service, positively impacting the quality of campus life through professionalism, excellence and caring.

WHAT WILL YOU DO:

Provide customer service support to the Parking & Transportation Unit at Georgia State University. This position may be required to be cross trained for another position and/or responsibility in order to provide both back-up for a department as well as to supplement resources needed during certain times of the year.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES INCLUDE:

  • Greet customers in a friendly and courteous manner at all times.
  • Monitor and resolve all customer inquiries and control traffic at the entrance and exits at all assigned areas.
  • Perform minor repairs across campus if needed or notify the manager immediately.
  • Assist with general (light) maintenance tasks such as debris cleanup, trash, etc.
  • Assisting customers with directions, parking help and act as a traffic controller to direct incoming customers.
  • Issue citations and warnings for non-compliance with a computerized handheld computer or manual tickets. Immediately report any accidents, incidents, or safety concerns to the appropriate dispatcher.
  • Maintaining all assigned check lists. (Daily, Weekly, Monthly).
  • Perform other duties as assigned.

Qualifications:

Minimum Requirements:

  • Bachelor's degree; or high diploma or GED and four years of customer service, administrative or office experience; or a combination of education and related experience.

Preferred Requirements:

  • Excellent customer service and communication skills.
  • Able to stand and walk for extended periods.
  • Must be able and willing to work outside in all elements (heat, rain, snow, cold).
  • Positions within this classification are required to lift up to 30 lbs. and bend, stoop, and twist.
  • Knowledge and ability to understand and accurately apply laws, rules, regulations, and policies.
  • Must be able to operate efficiently and effectively in a fast-paced, changing environment.
  • License Requirement: The individual will be required to have and maintain a valid state-issued driver's license with a current address and acceptable driving record.
