Our Assistant Automation Specialists are instrumental in supporting our Automation Specialists in building long-term customer relations, solving problems, and making recommendations to improve customer systems. They will assist in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building systems such as HVAC, lighting, power, and monitoring.

DUTIES & ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS

Assist Automation Specialists in developing, building, testing, and commissioning building control systems.

Diagnose and repair controls systems malfunctions

Conduct basic building control system installation, configuration, programming, testing, and repair.

Respond to BAS emergencies during off hours.

Prepare documentation and reports on work status and completion.

BASIC QUALIFICATIONS

* 1-4 year of experience with building automation systems, mechanical, electrical, mechatronics, computer science, OR equivalent

* Working knowledge of basic electronics, logic, and systems design.

* Must have basic PC experience in Windows environments and knowledge of word processing, spreadsheets, e-mail, web-enabled applications, and database software.

* High School diploma

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

* Bachelor's degree in a related field OR equivalent certification

* Computer networking experience

* Java or SQL programming language experience

KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, ABILITY, AND CHARACTERISTICS

* Ability to read and understand mechanical, electrical, network, and wiring drawings.

* Ability to manage professional e-mail communications

* Ability to manage and maintain a calendar and task management systems

* Ability to present a professional, positive, and helpful attitude always.

* Must possess and maintain exceptional work ethic and timeliness

* Must uphold company values and demand the highest level of conduct from self and others

* Must be a self-starter, with the ability to work as part of a team and independently

Working Conditions and Physical Effort:

* Work involves moderate exposure to elements, such as hot/cold temperatures, dirt, dust, and/or loud noises.

* Work environment involves moderate exposure to construction hazards or physical risks, which require following basic safety precautions.

* Moderate physical effort. Requires handling of average-weight objects up to 50 pounds and extensive sitting. Some walking and standing.
