Gresham Smith is actively seeking a highly talented and motivated Project Scheduler for employment in the Atlanta (Midtown), GA office. This position is responsible for working closely with Program Managers, Project Managers, and Project Manager Assistants in planning, creating, and managing project schedules. This position includes making conclusions in linking critical activities, risk management, assignment coordination, interaction with engineering designers, and activity duration. Project schedulers also ensure that an open communication system is available where all stakeholders are informed about changes to established schedules.

Responsibilities:

  • Create, monitor, and analyze project schedules in accordance with standard of best project practice.
  • Ensure accuracy of project schedules by tracking frequency of updates from project managers.
  • Assist project manager and project manager assistants in monitoring projects' progress, including identifying critical activities and reviewing forecasts and progress achieved to date.
  • Track baselines, perform what-if analysis, and assist the PM in developing contingency plans.
  • Track the progress of schedule activities and identify projects that are significantly behind baseline schedules. Develop a recovery schedule for PM concurrence.
  • Assist the program scheduler in tracking the status of all schedules and schedule related activities. Update spreadsheets and database as necessary. Follow up with PM's to obtain updated status of approvals and coordination's.
  • Attend meetings with program managers, design professionals, and provide input on schedule structure, activity duration and effect of proposed changes.
  • Performs other job responsibilities as assigned.
  • Attend training as needed and appropriate, to understand changing client and Gresham Smith requirements.

Minimum Qualifications:

  • Associate's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, Business Management or related discipline. An equivalent combination of training and experience can be substituted in lieu of a degree.
  • 2+ years of Project Scheduling related experience using a work breakdown structure and critical path method.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Knowledge of standard office practices and procedures.
  • Ability to learn Georgia Department of Transportation systems, policies, and procedures.
  • Ability to learn standard operations, policies and procedures of a firm, preferably within the A/E industry.
  • Ability to operate office equipment such as personal computers, calculators, and copiers.
  • Skill in Microsoft Office applications, particularly Word, Outlook, TEAMS, Excel and Project
  • Skill in Primavera P6 project management software.
  • Skill in Smartsheets.
  • Experience with scheduling using a work breakdown structure (WBS) and critical path methodology.
  • Demonstrated ability to pay strong attention to detail, particularly in data entry and communication tasks.
  • Demonstrated ability of strong organizational and time management skills.
  • Ability to work independently on multiple tasks without immediate and constant supervision.
