Currently, Alliant Health Group is seeking a Senior Accountant. This position is hybrid-remote and candidates must be based in Georgia. The Senior Accountant maintains financial records and ensures that financial transactions are properly recorded. Ensures the accuracy of entries to ledger accounts and reconciles subsidiary ledger accounts to the general ledger. Helps in the preparation of complex balance sheets, profit and loss statements and other financial reports. Analyzes current costs, revenues, financial commitments, and obligations incurred to predict future revenues and expenses. May guide or review the work of support staff.

In this role, the ideal candidate will:

  • Perform timely and accurate monthly and yearly accounting closes.
  • Prepare and review journal entries.
  • Coordinate and help with external audits for financial statements, fixed assets, governmental, and ad hoc requirements.
  • Prepare monthly invoices.
  • Prepare monthly financial reports.
  • Perform monthly reconciliations of the General Ledger accounts to ensure accurate reporting.
  • Perform trend analyses comparing account balances month to month, year to year, and year to budget.
  • Assist with fiscal year budget.
  • Perform cash disbursements and submit payments to the bank portals.
  • Research data and run reports in the Deltek Costpoint System.
  • Create, maintain and deliver required internal customer query and reporting requests.
  • Maintain and update Concur expense and travel system.
  • Prepare quarterly and yearly government reporting requirements.
  • Assist in spreadsheet price ups for proposals from our customers.
  • Cross train and provide back-up for other team members in the department.

  • Work in close collaboration with other team members to support the development of new projects and the continuous improvement of the overall work of the team.

Knowledge, skills and abilities required for this role include:

  • Knowledge, skill and ability to communicate in verbal and written formats.
  • Knowledge, skill and ability to operate independently, manage time and assigned projects with competing priorities.
  • Advance knowledge of Excel, including pivot tables, and report generation Strong mathematical and analytical skills.
  • Knowledge of enterprise resource planning systems (ERP) with Knowledge of Deltek CostPoint and/or Concur a plus.
  • Ability to travel by car or plane to Company locations, customer meetings or other locations as needed.

Education, experience and training required and preferred for the position are below:

Required:

  • Bachelor's degree in accounting or related field of study
  • Experience in monthly financial close process
  • 2-3 years of accounting experience, public accounting preferred

Preferred:

  • Certified Public Accountant
  • Healthcare, government and/or nonprofit experience

PHYSICIAL REQUIREMENTS

Essential duties are routinely performed in a professional office environment but may be conducted in remote or field locations. The role may require work at a station/desk and routinely requires use of standard office equipment such as computers, phones, photocopiers/scanners, fax machines, printers, and filing cabinets. Duties may require use of transportation to attend meetings or conduct duties outside of the office environment. Must be able to regularly remain in a stationary position and occasionally move about the office to access office machinery and facilities. Occasionally must be able to move/transport materials weighing up to 30 pounds, as well as position self to access files, equipment and work materials. This role frequently communicates to internal and external resources both verbally and written, via face-to-face, electronic and telephonic media. Must be able to understand and exchange accurate information in these situations, as well as translate into action. Short-term and long-term memory, abstract reasoning and decision making may be required on a regular basis. Core office / business operational hours may be required.
