Shift/ Schedule: Variable Shifts

SUMMARY

Under the direct supervision of a registered pharmacist, prepares, packages, and distributes medications and pharmaceutical supplies.

JOB DUTIES

  • Assist patients at point-of-sale
  • Collect money, provide patient with a receipt, and prepare daily cash deposits consistently.
  • Assist in maintaining refrigerator logs.
  • Maintain the cleanliness of the prescription pharmacy in an organized manner.
  • Report and/or forward operational issues to leadership and use reporting utilities appropriately to expedite resolutions.
  • When appropriate, review physicians' orders and transcribe required information into patients' computerized drug profiles.
  • Inventory control and order medications, based on PAR levels.
  • Ensure medications are in date by performing monthly inspections of assigned areas.
  • Return to Stock medication to patients' profile when appropriate.
  • Greet customers in a courteous and professional manner.
  • Utilize AIDET at all times.
  • Answer telephone with appropriate greeting and efficiency.
  • Assemble patients' medications for the pharmacist to check.
  • Assist leadership in the implementation of workflows, process improvement initiatives and organizational directives.
  • Float to other pharmacies, as needed, as determined by leadership.
  • Other duties as assigned.

REQUIRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • High School Diploma or GED
  • 1 year experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • Must be a registered Pharmacy Technician or a Pharmacist Intern licensed with the State of Georgia Board of Pharmacy.

PREFERRED QUALIFICATIONS

  • Completion of an accredited Pharmacy Technician training program
  • 2 or more years of experience as a Pharmacy Technician
  • PTCB certification
