Quality Control Clerk

Position Summary:

Inspects all incoming production parts and first articles, maintains Q/C equipment and works with Engineering and Operations to ensure a quality finished product. This position focuses on incoming materials from new and existing vendors as well as the overall quality of outgoing manufactured products.

Duties & Responsibilities:

  • Daily inspection of incoming parts/raw materials.
  • Inspection of first articles and/or coordinating more advanced inspection with outside services.
  • Maintenance of required quality files.
  • Inspection of production parts on the line and RT tools. Communicates errors and makes recommendations for correction.
  • Manage of the Non-Conformance report database and QC physical hold area.
  • Participate in assigned inventory processes that include physical inventories and cycle counting.
  • Other duties and special projects as assigned by Project Engineer or Operations Management.

Basic Qualifications:

  • Associate degree (AA) or equivalent from two-year College or technical school; or 1 to 3 years of related experience and/or training; or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred.
  • Must demonstrate effective use of QC and measuring equipment such as height gauges and optical

comparators.

  • Have ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and other technical

specifications.

  • Prefer experience working in a Six Sigma and/or Lean process improvement environment.

  • Ability to interpret an extensive variety of technical instructions in mathematical or diagram form and deal with several abstract and concrete variables.
  • Understanding and training of the in-house ERP system and the ability to learn and use the in-house CAD system for viewing printing and some drawing manipulation as required.
  • Knowledge of all Microsoft programs is essential. Q/Q and statistical software experience is preferred.

Physical Requirements:

  • Must be able to remain in a stationary position in an office environment 80% of the time.
  • Will frequently move about inside the office to access files, office machinery, etc.
  • Must be able to operate basic office machinery.
  • Must be able to communicate with team and management and be able to exchange accurate information in these situations.
  • Specific vision abilities required by this job include close and ability to adjust focus. The employee
  • must occasionally lift and/or move up to 50 pounds.
