Job Description

The VP, Media serves as a key contact on small to mid-tier clients or teams with the Client Service team on larger clients. This person manages a team including Directors and AMD's and is responsible for strategic media discussions. Additionally, he/she shares in the responsibility of providing account leadership in partnership with the key subject matter expert (Media, Search, Data, SEO) to drive media and marketing solutions for clients. This role is a hybrid of a client service and account management role and works to bridge the strategic account relationship with the campaign strategy and execution being delivered by the team.

Core Craft Skills

  • Plans and buys media as needed; may include direct account and client service responsibilities.
  • Develops and maintains publisher relationships, including senior-level contacts; contributes to issue resolution between both parties.
  • Works cross-functionally with management team and client team.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills; excellent presentation skills/presence.
  • Solid financial acumen and business expertise.

Client Exposure

  • Manages one or more smaller accounts ($10+ million in total spend).
  • Provides marketing expertise, including online and offline strategy development for clients and client teams. Conversant about offline media and how digital fits.

Business Development

  • Actively contributes to new business efforts.

Team Leadership

  • Manages a staff of 10+ total team members, along with workflow and department capabilities in conjunction with the VP Media Director and senior leaders
  • Provides day-to-day functional management of media team, including recruiting, performance management, and plays an active role in training and mentoring.

Agency Leadership

  • Assists with interviewing, hiring and getting new Media team members up to speed.
  • Leads Media Training (basic knowledge, best practices, feedback and coaching to enable continuous improvement).
  • Fosters an environment of shared learning and acts as a trusted source of media information for agency and in client meetings.
  • Holds a strong partnership with the Insights Group; understands ad technologies and capabilities.
  • Understands all Razorfish products, tools and services.
Qualifications
  • 10+ years of media planning or equivalent business experience; minimum 4+ years in online media preferred.
  • 3+ years management experience preferred.

Compensation Range: $143,000 - $205,500. This is the pay range the Company believes it will pay for this position at the time of this posting. Consistent with applicable law, compensation will be determined based on the skills, qualifications, and experience of the applicant along with the requirements of the position, and the Company reserves the right to modify this pay range at any time. For this role, the Company will offer medical coverage, dental, vision, disability, 401k, and paid time off.
