Senior Specialist, Employee Communications

Habitat for Humanity International (HFHI) is currently seeking a talented communications professional for the role of Senior Specialist, Employee Communications. This individual will report to the Director, Employee Communications, and work closely with employee communications leaders to deliver strategic communications that keep HFHI employees globally up to date on the organization's initiatives, activities, programs, performance, staff hires, moves and updates. The Senior Specialist will be an important contributor to the delivery of employee engagement tactics in a global, hybrid work environment, will contribute to the day-to-day news delivery on HFHI's employee intranet, and will work collaboratively with Global Communications and colleagues from different HFHI divisions and employees from across the globe. This person should be a strong writer, strategic thinker, responsive, able and willing to problem solve and suited for a fast-paced, fully engaged environment. The ideal candidate will have a passion for driving employee engagement through knowledge sharing and building connections with teammates and teams, and always seek to keep employees engaged and informed.

This position is eligible for hybrid (in office) or remote work.


Essential Duties and Responsibilities:

*In partnership with the Senior Director, Global Organizational Communications and Director, Employee Communications, support the execution of HFHI's employee communications strategy, including governance for and optimization of employee communication channels and content.
*Embrace and cascade HFHI's mission, vision, brand, values, case studies, employee highlights, success stories and milestones to HFHI employees.
*Ensure employee communications are high-quality, accurate, timely, appropriate in tone and messaging and supportive of HFHI's strategic initiatives.
*Contribute to the management of content and the news sections of the employee intranet, and partner with the knowledge management team on intranet management, evolution and best practice delivery.
*Write original content for HFHI's weekly employee-facing newsletter and develop creative ways to highlight employees and programs.
*Collaborate with a cross-functional team including colleagues from Global Communications, HR, IT and others to ensure that efficient processes are enabled, and communication flows are clear.
*Generate storytelling opportunities and create content for employee communication channels.
*Contribute to the execution of various strategic employee-facing events such as employee town hall meetings and meetings for managers.
*In partnership with the Director, Employee Communications, maintain a calendar for company-wide communications to employees on a regular and established cadence.
*Manage a robust analytics and measurement approach to gauge the effectiveness of key communication channels and behaviors, with the goal of continuous improvement.
*Participate in other projects and tasks as assigned.

Minimum Requirements:
*Education:
**BS/BA in Public Relations, Communications, Marketing or Business-related field or equivalent experience is required.
**Minimum of 3-5 years successful work experience in internal/employee communications for mid-size organizations, preferably for a nonprofit organization. Global experience preferred.

Qualifications:
**An exceptional writer, recognized for creating clear and compelling content.
**Strong proficiency and experience in SharePoint, Microsoft Teams meeting platforms, other Microsoft programs as well as common layout and design software associated with print and digital communication.
**Demonstrated experience maintaining or curiosity to learn how to maintain a measurement and analytics approach for internal communications programs.
**Subject matter expertise of modern communication best practices and digital platforms available for organizational engagement.
**Interest in surfacing emerging communications technologies, techniques and tactics to ensure that HFHI is on the forefront of organizational engagement.

Preferred - in addition to minimum:
**Consistently reliable and responsive, self-starter, can-do attitude, willingness to partner, dive in and build and work across structural lines.
**Understanding of organizational change management considerations.
**Proven track-record of excellent client service and delivery of innovative solutions, including employee intranet best practices.
**Willingness to speak up, to innovate and to be an active contributor to a dynamic team.

For work locations in the US, the salary range for this position is between $52,900 - $79,300 per year. The target hiring range for this position is $56,185 - $62,795 per year.

The actual salary offered for this role will be based on a variety of factors, including location, internal equity and the candidate's qualifications and professional experience. HFHI offers a competitive, comprehensive benefits package that varies by country and typically includes vacation leave, sick leave, personal days, health insurance options, retirement plan contributions and life insurance.
