Job Description:

Responsibilities:

  • Oversee the daily planning and productivity of plant operations. Ensure the ongoing safety and environmental aspects of the plant for associates and the Zep Corporation. Maintain the highest integrity programs and processes as they relate to Safety, Environmental, Quality, Service and Cost performance indicators. Execute operations. P&L responsibilities for operational and material expenses.
  • Lead and participate in monthly budgeting processes and action planning to meet Key Performance Indicators. Own multi-million annual budgeting process for campus. Fully understand short- and long-term capital needs for facility and how strategic and timely investment can best be leveraged to deliver the lowest possible cost of goods.
  • Ideate, vet, and execute ~$2M of annual cost reduction/savings activities utilizing Lean and other continuous improvement tools to maximize Zep Inc.'s financial position. Will need to work closely with all functions of the organization to understand improvement efforts vs actual financial return (savings vs avoidance).
  • Develop, coach and mentor direct reports in a timely and effective manner. PMP, Development Plans, Engagement discussions happen on a regular basis. Ensure associates are utilizing tools to track performance, understand losses, identify opportunities, and action plan against sustainable continuous improvement.
  • Oversee capital (budget + planning, spending, and execution). Participate and coach project management activities, ensure campus security measures are up-to-date and practical for site. Ensure facility mix and upkeep maintains the service levels and professional appearance standards required by Zep.
  • Own, control, improve daily operations activities utilizing a strong KPI framework aimed at driving performance and corrective action. Ensure daily, weekly, monthly performance reviews are in place to understand performance to plan, cost savings pipelines, cost savings planned vs actual, management of improvement pipelines all in order to meet and exceed ZEP's performance requirements.
  • Build and develop a high performing manufacturing team via effective leadership, coaching and talent development.

Requirements:

  • A bachelor's degree (BA, BS) or equivalent.
  • Area of Study: Engineering, Management
  • Five to Seven Years experience in Manufacturing, Engineering, Quality
  • Organizational Leadership, Lean Manufacturing, Project Management, Capital Planning, P&L Management, Resource Planning, Coaching and Development
  • Manufacturing Lean / Kaizen experience (knowledge and application).
  • Ability to analyze data / situations and draw relevant conclusions.
  • Computer fundamentals including Microsoft office suite.
  • ERP system user experience
  • Ability to effectively communicate both verbally and written with all levels of workforce including executive leadership.
  • Exceptional leadership and team building skills.
  • Familiarity with safety and environmental regulations.
