SUMMARY:

The purpose of this position is to lead and manage the Manufacuring Engineering and Maintenance teams at the Andersen Windows location in Locust Grove, GA. This leader will be responsible for developing and executing an annual strategy focused on operational excellence, reducing waste, increasing efficiency, and eliminating variation within our manufacturing processes. The ideal candidate for this position is an experienced strategic-thinking leader that has a passion for developing and leading a high-performing team.

This position ensures that the assigned Manufacturing Engineering and Maintenance teams are operating in accordance with Andersen's values, employee covenant, and strategic direction.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES:
  • Set clear goals and objectives, assess progress, and instill a performance-oriented culture with a focus on accountability
  • Partner with operations, RD&I, quality, MIT, safety, and supply chain to lead and manage change
  • Deploy a strategy that builds, retains, and engages all employees through inclusion and teamwork, and provides a safe and special place to work
  • Aligns resources to strategic goals and objectives
  • Ensure our teams and working partners adhere to corporate processes and utilize project management toolkits
  • Work with business partners and leverage data to determine project focus and improvement opportunities
  • Provide resource allocation guidance for the engineering and maintenance teams through analysis of current and future state workload, skill, experience, and qualifications
  • Develop, execute, and manage the capital and expense budgets for the engineering team
  • Identify, recruit, and onboard talent as needed
  • Acquire the appropriate people, technology, equipment, and financial resources necessary to meet internal and external customer expectations
  • Provide coaching, information, ideas, feedback, and encouragement to employees and managers to promote the growth and development of the engineering team
  • Be highly visible within the value stream to create a safe environment for collaboration and participation
  • Promote a hands-on, high-involvement approach to problem solving
QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS
  • 4-year degree in engineering, technology, or management
  • 5-10 years of experience in a technical leadership role (engineering, quality, etc.)
  • Background in manufacturing preferred
  • Strong coaching and people development skills
  • Demonstrated knowledge of basic corporate finance, budgeting, accounting
  • Strong, proactive communicator, effective both 1:1 and in groups
  • Able to develop and maintain a respectful and safe work environment

In 2024, Andersen has set a profit-sharing target of $4,000 per eligible employee, prorated as appropriate. Profit sharing will be paid out in quarterly installments to provide eligible employees with payments throughout the year, with payment amounts tied to quarterly operating profit performance.
