Description

Responsible for managing and maintaining the on-going performance of the Agency's information technology (IT) equipment, network infrastructure, security and communications needs. Works with the Senior Director of IT Operations and Security to ensure the Agency's IT infrastructure is operating in a manner consistent with current business needs and to strategize on how to efficiently meet current and future business needs cost effectively. Responsible for developing, maintaining and implementing standards, polices, and procedures for the IT infrastructure. Involved in the optimization of hardware, software, and network contracts and license agreements. Accountable for ensuring continuity of computer services for all computer users in the Agency through planning, technical leadership and project coordination.

Essential Functions:

  • Analyzes business needs presented by the user community and/or clients and recommends technical solutions.
  • Ensures consistency of existing applications and hardware by creating, maintaining, and enforcing standards and procedures for implementing technical solutions.
  • Ensures International Organization for Standardization (ISO) processes and procedures are followed and implemented according to documented standards.
  • Responsible for monitoring and managing the IT help desk ticketing queue.
  • Manages procurement of all IT assets.
  • Research required services and technology to ensure IT operations is running effectively and efficiently through the Agency.
  • Monitor, maintain, and troubleshoot all VoIP related systems. Work with staff to implement all required VoIP systems and technologies.
  • Produces detailed time line for each application release and implements effective project control by monitoring the progress and reporting the status of the software release.
  • Responsible for creating and maintaining documentation of IT processes and requirements related to equipment, network topology and end user support.
  • Provides technical support of the Agency's various operating environments including performance tuning, trouble shooting, administration and maintenance.
  • Participates in all hardware and software evaluations and maintains vendor contracts.
  • Prepares long and short-term plans and acquires resources to support application selection and systems development.
  • Forecasts costs, equipment and personnel needs for projects and programs as required for IT operations.
  • Captures, monitors and analyzes computer usage data, recommends and implements policies for software and hardware to provide maximum resource utilization in a cost efficient manner.
  • Analyzes computer technology information to assist in directing management in the selection of software and hardware to meet the needs of the organization.
  • Manage duties and responsibilities of IT operations staff as well as personal development of each staff member.
  • All other duties as assigned.

Job Requirements and Qualifications:

  • GED/High School Diploma.
  • Minimum of three (3) years related experience in information technology.
  • A+, CCNA, CCSA, Network Administration or Server Management certifications preferred.
  • Three (3) years of managing an IT support team or experienced consultant.
  • Experience with network infrastructure and security management.
  • Experience with server administration.
  • Network experiences using Cisco routers, switches, and firewalls (Catalysts, ASA, PIX); implementing/troubleshooting layer technologies (VLAN, VTP, TCP/IP); troubleshooting routing protocols (BGP, OSPF).
  • Familiar with DHCP, remote access to VPN, and Citrix environment.

Working Environment Conditions/Requirements:

* The ability to push, pull, lift, up to 50lbs. with or without accommodations

* Must be able to stand and or walk for extended periods of time

* The ability to bend, reach and grasp throughout the work day.

  • The ability to travel between all Goodwill of North Georgia locations as required.
