Job Description
As a member of the company's leadership team leading finance and accounting, you will play a critical role in driving strategic, operational, and financial decisions that will impact the overall trajectory of the company. In addition to managing and building out the ideal finance function, you can expect to dive deep into problems and work closely with team members across the entire business. We're a team of entrepreneurial problem solvers across all levels that get excited about making the lives of our customers better.

Key job responsibilities:
  • Reporting to and partnering with the CEO to drive business success.
  • Collaborate with the VP of Sales & CEO on sales/revenue tracking and management, including the development and execution of go-to-market strategies.
  • Plan compensation and commission structures to align with go-to-market objectives and sales targets.
  • Develop pricing and discounting strategies
  • Oversee the review and management of contracts
  • Provide support in HR functions
  • Dive deep, plan, and execute on projects across the organization to drive business improvements both in the marketplace and internally
  • Collaborate with various teams, including product, sales, and strategy and operations, to ensure financial strategies align with company objectives
  • Maintain a pulse on the markets, public and private, to track how the company is performing relative to its comps and also to stay in front of potential corporate development opportunities that could accelerate strategic objectives
  • Communicate, engage, and interact with broader leadership team and company Board of Directors to formulate and achieve strategic goals
  • Manage members of the broader finance and accounting team
  • Provide ongoing mentorship, training, and development of direct and indirect reports
  • Provide thought leadership on major initiatives directed at driving cost efficiencies in support of long-term planning
  • Bring new thinking and ways of doing things to the function, as appropriate, including analyzing and pushing new metrics and performance indicators to help identify trends
  • Strong knowledge of GAAP and ASC 606
  • Create a financial backbone and roadmap that enables our continued hypergrowth
  • Serve as a member of the leadership team. Continually partner cross-functionally to formulate and achieve our strategic goals.

Key qualifications:
  • Been VP or Head of Finance at SaaS startups in the $10M-$50M ARR range
  • Demonstrated command of SaaS metrics, KPIs, and business fundamentals
  • Superior analytical and quantitative problem-solving abilities
  • Ability to deconstruct complex problems, and drive to a data-driven solution
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal
  • Ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a fast-paced setting
  • Relentless sense of ownership, curiosity, and initiative
  • Experience scaling the finance and accounting team of a high growth business

The company is headquartered in the San Franicsco Bay Area. The person in the role can be fully remote anywhere in the US.

With that said, as required by local law, Vaco believes that the following salary range referenced above reasonably estimates the base compensation for an individual hired into this position in geographies that require salary range disclosure. The individual may also be eligible for discretionary bonuses.
