Job Summary

Job Description

Being the main Application Engineering Contact from Nidec and its customers in a way in which according to the ethical code and Profile Company it's possible to guarantee needed support with them in terms of Application and Product Specifications, to direct our product strategy development and thus support the technical leadership of our company.The Application Engineering needs to know about refrigeration circuits, hermetic compressors, condensing units, sealed units for refrigeration, sense of urgency, good technical skills, planning the routine, mapping the opportunities to increase the contribution margin and market share.

Responsibilities & Duties

  • Approve and Implement changes in our products with customers with expected quality and according to the timeline, without putting at risk their products.
  • Support customers in their own developments by suggesting the most optimal compressor according to their application, to assure optimal performancefor themand the bestmargin for our company too.
  • Alignment between Customers Cooling and R&D to guarantee success in future Project Developments.
  • Optimize samples process between Customer and Nidec to guarantee that the priorities from both are aligned.
  • Identify development opportunities by getting feedback from Customer, Application & Market, which supports new trends and focuses on our Technological leadership.
  • Identify new business opportunities by having knowledge of plans and future projects that are relevant for our customers that will increase our market share.
  • Give support for other areas of the company such as Sales, Quality, and Cooling so it would be possible that together we achieve the best results that are expected by Nidec and its customers.
  • Support on site QA issues and TDA with customers
  • Support on site improvement ideas with customers (QA, Process continuous improvement, cost reduction, new designs, etc) on a regular basis.
  • Support customers with Innovative ideas for their Products while seeking Nidecs interests.
  • Understand customer Portfolio and strategy by having frequent meetings on their sites and use this strategy to protect our market share.
  • Coordinate with Production and QA the requested pilot runs to guarantee the compliance of requirements and success in customer approval.
  • Realize critical analysis of customer approval plans to optimize this process and implementation.
  • Represent internally the interests of customers by delivering an optimal service that complies with their expectations and that can bea base of a mutual confidence relationship.
  • Guarantee the efficient use of economic resources in the company, according to Nidec policies and with this contribute to the achievements of objectives.
  • Support customer Quarterly reviews to achieve maximum R&D performance and exceed their expectation
  • Learn competitor's strengths and weaknesses
  • Travel to assigned accounts and or new OEMs to develop and maintain commercial business.
  • Travel abroad to Nidec and customer plants as needed. (Must have a passport)

Knowledge, Skills, & Abilities

  • Bachelor's Degree or equivalent
  • 2-4 years of relevant experience
  • Knowledge in thermodynamics & Knowledge in compressors & refrigeration system

  • Logical problem-solving approach and the ability to clearly communicate the situation and proposed solution to the customer

  • Possesses a sense of urgency, strong organizational and follow up skills
