Overview

Due to continued growth, our Energy Group (EG) is seeking a Civil Project Designer for preferably our Kennesaw, GA or Tampa, FL office. Although these offices are preferred locations, we will also consider candidates working from Palm Beach Gardens, FL, Lake Mary, FL, or Birmingham, AL offices. Remote may be an option for the right candidate.

Responsibilities
    Maintain working knowledge of civil design & drafting standards and programs
  • Perform project design for site grading, drainage, building layout, utilities, roadways, and parking projects
  • Experience in erosion control and stormwater management design a plus
  • Understand and follow all organizational, area/departmental, and client procedures, safety policies and directives
  • Coordinating with engineering and project management staff for the design and drafting group, assisting on creating project budgets, reviewing scopes of work, and developing schedules to drive project execution
  • Work directly with engineers and other drafters for design concept interpretation
  • Review of completed designs and design products to ensure compliance with client quality and consistency standards, providing feedback as needed
  • May provide technical guidance, leadership, and manage workloads of other team members
  • Lead development of drawings or other deliverables as needed

Qualifications
  • Bachelor's Degree in applicable field and 4+ years of experience or Associates degree (or equivalent) and 8 years of experience
  • Strong design/drafting experience in AutoCAD Civil 3D. Revit and GIS software experience a plus
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills
  • Excellent attention to detail
  • Ability to work productively and effectively communicate with internal staff and external client representatives
  • Ability to travel between 10%-15% of the time which may include fieldwork; duration of travel may vary depending on project and client needs
